PhD Scholarship in Drama and Theatre Studies

Drama and Theatre Studies at the School of Music and Theatre, University College Cork, is one of the leading drama and theatre departments in Ireland with a commitment to excellence in practice, teaching and research. Our vibrant learning community is dedicated to building interdisciplinary and cross-cultural understandings of theatre and the performing arts. At the heart of this is the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Performance Practices (CIR).

We are delighted to invite applications for one PhD scholarship on the topic of Directors’ Theatre and Adaptation starting January 2014. The suitably qualified candidate will be based at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Performance Practices and will be offered teaching opportunities within the undergraduate degree programme in the Department of Drama and Theatre Studies. This scholarship covers fees only and will be for the duration of the first two years of research with a review at the end of year two.

Entry Requirements:  Candidates must have a 2:1 BA (Hons) Degree or equivalent along with evidence of an established commitment to the field of Drama and Theatre Studies.

Due to restrictions on funding this ‘fees only’ studentship is open to candidates from the UK/EU only.
